In the past, it was frequently possible to distinguish between the songs each wrote — Tegan’s were often tempestuous and fulsome; Sara’s more poppy. But the material on Heartthrob is very much a collaboration of sounds and sensibilities, and these women are united in expressing the joys and the agony — the often luxurious, languid agony — that anyone who’s been in love can identify with. Later this month Tegan and Sara will release their seventh album, Heartthrob. To celebrate, the Canadian duo have teamed with MTV Hive for a special live performance as a part of Artist to Watch‘s Live in Boston. It’s great news for the 300 or so Tegan & Sara diehards who’ll get to be there in person, but the even better news is that you’ll be able to stream the entire show right here on Hive. The show will take place on Sunday, January 27, at the Brighton Music Hall, also as part of the Fenway Recording Series. Tickets go on-sale this Thursday, January 17.
